Rick Feldman- Associate Financial Adviser**

Rick is the consumate "civic action citizen", as a volunteer and leader in the Chamber of Commerce (past president), Rotary (past president), public arts (a president of the Center for the Arts), education (Support Our Schools), business associations, community based human services, and business support. He joined our firm explicitly to bring a commitment to our mission of being a leader in socially responsible business activity. Chief among our goals is to help people and businesses purposefully plan on how they can give to their community. Rick is here to ensure that we remain true to that mission while providing sound, essential, high quality financial services and products.

His business background and experience is extensive: he founded, owned, and sold two information technology businesses, helped develop pioneering software in economic modelling and economic policy analysis, and helped dozens of small businesses with planning and growth.

Yet his public sector work has also been a career: administrator and educator (University of Massachusetts-Amherst), Community Action Agency administrator, development and fund-raising (arts, human services), leadership development training, and local politics.

In all of this, his principles are consistent and clear: doing what is right for the common good, and doing it well --- pursuing excellence for the greatest benefit --- guides his initiatives and work ethic.

He has a long list of publications in education, economic analysis and regional planning, organizational development, and leadership training.

Rick has done graduate work in adult education and counseling, public administration and public finance, quantative analysis, and political philosophy. He lives in the Northampton Massachusetts area with his wife and best friend, Carolyn; their daughter, Anna, is completing her graduate degree in a Masters of Fine Arts program.

Adam Robinson, Financial Adviser, CFP**

Adam Robinson brings 9 years of experience as a Financial Adviser to the Ostberg & Associates team.  Adam focuses on providing financial planning, investment management and insurance solutions to his clients in a flexible manner, creating custom solutions based on each client’s unique needs.  In an increasingly uncertain financial and economic climate where markets, legislation, and perceptions seem to change constantly, Adam believes that it is crucial to have a financial roadmap in place. While this roadmap must be flexible enough to adapt to change, it must also provide the framework and structure that allows for disciplined decisions that are driven by one's own personal circumstances.

Adam grew up in Florence where sports played a major role in his youth and he realized at an early age that his passion was playing baseball. Adam had the great fortune of playing on many successful teams coached by many wonderful mentors, including Rob Ostberg’s late father “Doc” Ostberg.  Adam’s combination of excellence on and off the field at Northampton High School made him a highly sought after Division I college recruit. As a top pitcher and a National Honor Society member, Adam was offered many athletic and academic scholarships to top Colleges and Universities all over the country. He chose to remain in the Valley and attend the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where his career culminated in being a member of the 1996 team that advanced through the NCAA Regional tournament, falling just shy of an appearance in the College World Series.

After graduating from UMass Amherst’s Isenberg School of Management with a Degree in Business Management, Adam re-located to the eastern part of the state to begin his professional career.  The same dedication Adam possessed as a Student Athlete continued as he built his professional career. For the past 9 years Adam has worked diligently to build a successful career in financial services while fulfilling the educational and examination requirements to earn the Certified Financial Planner® designation. Adam also recognizes that giving back to the community is important and has been an active board member of the Franklin Square House Foundation.

Adam is very excited to bring his talents back “home” to the Pioneer Valley where he along with his wife Kristen, and two young children Carter and Sophia have relocated. Adam is looking forward to bringing the knowledge and experience of his many years in the industry as a CFP® to the Ostberg & Associates team.
